Burns And Roe

Burns can range from annoying to downright serious. When your mother told you never to go near an open flame, she wasn't saying this just to be a pest. Fire is nothing to be taken lightly. Burn victims are sometimes scarred for life. Well, there are natural treatments for burns that I was taught by my own mother when I was very young. They are very effective and can, in many cases, eliminate scarring.

The first thing you have to do is identify what degree burn you have. The reason that this is important is because depending on the degree of the burn, that will determine the treatment. Determining the degree of the burn is not hard. You just have to know what to look for.

First degree burns are characterized by slight redness of the skin. In most cases, first degree burns are just slightly annoying but still need to be treated. Second degree burns are characterized by redness and some blisters and are a lot more painful. With a third degree burn, the layer of skin is destroyed along with some underlying muscle. These are extremely painful and in many cases drive the victim into shock. A fourth degree burn is the worst of all and in these cases, the flesh is charred.

One other thing I should mention before we get into the actual treatment of the burns. Burns can come from other sources other than just fire. There are also electrical burns, chemical burns and radiation burns, all of which need to be treated differently.

For first degree burns, which are the least severe, mix together equal parts of white vinegar and water and put on the burn twice a day. You should also apply vitamin E several times during the day as well as Loa vera. Tannic acid is also very good for treating burns as is white oak bark tea. Simply apply the tea to the area.

For second degree burns, apply vitamin E and zinc oxide. Also take as much vitamin C during the day as your stomach will be able to handle. Vitamin C goes out in the urine so it is not toxic. After the burn starts to heal, apply Loa vera.

For third and fourth degree burns, immediately take the victim to the hospital. There is no treatment for these burns until after healing actually begins. Then, you can apply Loa vera to reduce the scarring. Loa vera juice is probably one of the best treatments for burns and is extremely effective. You should have this in your home at all times in case of emergency. Treat it as part of your first aid kit. It is that good.

Burns are serious. There is no question about it. The human body was not made to withstand extreme heat and fire. But if treated quickly, the damage from most burns can be minimized.
